Beautiful People Dating Website Boots 5,000 People for Being Too Fat

Beautiful People
When I heard this story, I just had to post an article about it. I found this hysterical!

A dating website called BeautifulPeople.com is know for allowing only the best looking people to be a part of it. If you are hot, you are in… no exceptions. If you are over weight, you are out! No ugly people aloud at BeautifulPeople.com.

According to the statement by the company, BeautifulPeople.com started booting people off their site after revealing photos “that they have let themselves go.” The company also continued to say:

“As a business, we mourn the loss of any member, but the fact remains that our members demand the high standard of beauty be upheld,” said Robert Hintze, founder of BeautifulPeople.com. “Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which BeautifulPeople.com was founded.”

The company said it “expelled” 1,520 users from the U.S., 832 from the U.K., 533 from Canada, 510 from Poland, 425 from Germany, 402 from Italy, 323 from France, 220 from Denmark, 176 from Turkey and 88 people from Russia. In the email from the company, these users were given suggestions for work out facilities to get themselves back in shape in order to re-apply to become a member on PeautifulPeople.com again.

People that tried to re-apply were reviewed by existing members, and only a few hundred were voted back in. Over 5,000 were rejected.

Although this site is probably not the most ethically sound, it does give some people motivation to not be overweight and to be a part of an exclusive club. Letting the members, or other users of the site vote on who to let in is a great idea to run the business. Running your business like a democracy gives the people exactly what they are looking for. Let the people decide!!
